Drinking From Your Infinite Ocean
On July 21st, of 2022, “12 Ways To Effortlessly Command Inspiration — Part 03” was published.
You can find, within that essay, a method titled “Drink A Glass Of Inspiration.”
The essence of this method is simple: imagine that you are drinking from an ocean of inspiration and, then, allow that inspiration to flow through you.
Simple and easy. But, does it work?
Yes.
You will, by reading this essay, learn about a recent experience with this method.
Even more than that, though, you will go over a “meditation” or “game” that allows you to access this imaginal ocean and drink the essence of whatever state of being you seek.
Your state of being might be inspiration, enthusiasm, passion, possibility; and so on and so forth.
No matter which state of being you seek to enter and enjoy, you can use this method to do so.
A New Concept Within A Vast Structure
Just one-week ago, I performed the “Drink A Glass Of Inspiration” method.
My time with the method was no longer than five-minutes and, if I am being honest, the experience lacked the weight and heft one often associates with these types of rituals.
Rather, the whole thing was playful and light; almost superfluous, in a way.
Right after drinking the glass of inspiration and conjuring the feeling of energy flowing through my body and essence, the method came to a close.
And, well, that was it.
I can’t recall what I did after performing this method, but I’m pretty sure it involved watching a movie or writing; two tasks completely unrelated to the method I just performed.
To be quite honest, in fact, a part of me assumed that this method would be ineffective.
Or, rather, that my recent with this method would be ineffective, given my lack of effort.
But, that is not what happened.
A stream of ideas came to me, in rapid succession, the next day.
Each one of these ideas served as a synthesis of “concepts” — the idea of concepts, that is — structures, systems, and the infinite.
None of them are clarified here as they are both somewhat ridiculous — not to me, of course — and currently being turned into something a little more elaborate.
The sense of awe and enthusiasm — inspiration, one might say — was tangible.
To go along with that, this sense of awe and enthusiasm continued to permeate my very being for the next few days, leading to new essays, stories, and possibilities.
None of this was forced or prodded in any way.
Rather, all it took was a brief, remarkably pleasant, meditation.
A guided meditation. A game. A playful imagining.
You can call it what you like and, really, that is the best option.
Drinking From The Ocean Of Your Desire
Right before we begin outlining this meditation, there are a few things to note.
Just to start, the first thing you should know is that this meditation is for more than inspiration.
You can use this meditation for enthusiasm and awe and passion and vitality and vision and confidence and energy; and so on and so forth, perhaps without end and beyond measure.
No matter what you select, though, get a feel for what you are seeking.
You may want new ideas, for example.
Or, you may want to know what you should work towards, so that you can be empowered and strengthened by this vision.
And, well, those are just two examples.
No matter what it is you want, get a feel for what that looks like and what that will lead to.
The experience you conjure may differ from that intention. But, knowing what you want makes it easier for you to drink of your desired state of being and, in turn, to experience it as a fact.
With those points out of the way, there’s one last point to mention: this meditation is written in the 2nd-person.
None of what is seen or felt within this meditation is meant to be particularly concrete, though. So, please change and adjust what doesn’t work for you.
A Glass Of Desire
You are sitting on a beach.
Listen to the waves, as they ebb and flow; recede and advance.
Touch the sand and enjoy its ticklish texture.
Feel the warm embrace of the sun as it rolls across your very being.
You are enjoying this moment.
You enjoy the beach. You enjoy the waves. You enjoy the sun.
You gaze into the ocean and appreciate the deep, blue hues of the water.
You appreciate just how pleasant and comfortable this moment is.
Right now, in this moment, there is beauty.
Beauty. Support. Love. Appreciation.
Contentment.
And, yet, there is something more.
Something that you need.
You know that, within the ocean your gaze is pointed towards, what you seek is present.
Within the moments following this recognition, you appreciate this fact.
And, then, you get up.
You get up and walk into the water.
Your feet are submerged, but the rest of your body is dry.
You are holding a cup.
A cup made of stone and marble.
You rub your hands along the cup, appreciating its texture.
You appreciate the pleasant design of the cup.
Right as the waves begin to gently flow across your feet, you place the cup into the water.
You take the cup out of the ocean.
The cup is filled with water.
Clear, blue water; liquid light and energy.
You know that what you seek is within this cup.
You know that the state you wish to experience will become your reality.
You allow yourself to appreciate these facts.
And, then, you drink the water within the cup.
You allow yourself to drink this water in a pleasant, relaxed manner.
The water is water. But, it tastes good, and it feels good to drink.
A pleasurable rush of energy flows through you.
You are energized. You are excited. You are appreciative.
And, with that, you know that your work is done.
For now, that is.
Soon enough — or, perhaps, right now — the state you chose to ingest will become your world.
Conclusion
Our innate creative abilities allow us to live the lives we wish to live.
Within the “life we wish to live,” there are states of being.
You can conjure these states of being with remarkable ease.
You can use your innate creative abilities to accomplish this.
My hope is that the meditation/game outlined above allows you to do so.
No matter what, though, thank you so much for reading this essay!
