You Are A Gift
No matter who you are, or what you’ve done, you are a gift.
A gift to the world.
A gift to the universe.
But, more importantly, a gift to yourself.
A gift to yourself and the life that you are living.
But, there’s a problem: too often, we fail to recognize who we are.
And, in failing to recognize who we are, we consign ourselves to that which we assume is ours.
Ours, by virtue of our own limitations and failures.
Rather than consigning yourself to this particular mode of being, allow yourself to embrace a greater vision.
A greater vision rooted in you, the gift that will always keep on giving, as well as your creative power.
And, with that, let’s dive into the “You Are A Gift” gratitude game!
You Are A Gift
You are a being of limitless creative power.
All that you desire is yours.
All that you yearn for is yours.
All that you yearn for is yours.
Or, at the very least, all of those things can be yours.
You possess the ability to make it so.
But, of course, you may not believe that this is, in fact, the case.
And, as such, you may consign yourself to what is and to what you believe is possible.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this. But, when we consign ourselves to these types of limitations and definitions, we close ourselves off from the unending gifts of our universe and our very self.
To go beyond these limitations, we can appreciate who we are.
We can appreciate the amazing gifts that comprise our very self.
We can appreciate our amazing accomplishments.
We can appreciate our amazing creative power.
And, within the flow of this appreciation, we can appreciate what we are creating.
The act of doing so allows three new possibilities to arise:
- A renewed self-concept.
- A greater sense of personal power.
- A deeper connection to our divinity.
And, well, you get the idea.
Right before we dive into the act of playing “You Are A Gift,” please allow me to share a story from my own life.
A Story From My Own Life
On a warm Summer night, near the end of August, fear and anxiety overtook me.
The contents of these fears and anxieties are slightly distorted. But, there is some measure of clarity present.
I was frightened of the future. I was frightened of my career. I was frightened of my financial situation.
Or, more specifically, I was frightened that I would fail to achieve my goals and fail to be someone.
To be someone successful and accomplished and confident.
And so on and so forth.
I was frightened of a great many things.
Each one of these fears and anxieties was rooted in one particular notion, though: my creative abilities and, in turn, my ability to step into a better situation was fundamentally limited
I recognized this pattern of thinking and the assumptions that this pattern was rooted within. But, the act of changing this pattern and changing these assumptions seemed difficult and unclear.
Right after allowing these fears and anxieties to move through me, a thought came to me: there is something more to “this” than I am aware of and, furthermore, there is something more to me.
Regarding the “this,” in question, I was referring to the universe and creativity, among other such things.
I chose, then, to appreciate my creative power.
To appreciate my ability to manifest and create the things that I truly desire and yearn for.
I returned to all manner of experiences that affirmed my creative power.
And, within these experiences, I chose to affirm that I was, and still am, a great writer and a creative soul and a driven person and a wonderful businessman.
And so on and so forth.
All of this was rooted in my appreciation for these facts.
Some of this appreciation felt forced or unnatural. But, as my experience within the process continued to flow, everything felt real and tangible and beautiful.
And, by the time that night came to a close, a deep sense of power and confidence was present.
Soon after that day came to an end, a wealth of blessings began to arise.
Some of the most notable blessings were as follows:
- Several wonderful writing clients.
- A wealth of wonderful ideas that continue to enchant me.
- A lovely trip to the Zoo.
- Confidence and certainty, regarding my abilities.
Each one of these blessings was rooted in my understanding of, and appreciation for, the gift that I am.
How Do You Play The “You Are A Gift” Gratitude Game?
To play the “You Are A Gift” gratitude game, please set aside some time to focus on yourself.
Just focus on yourself and who you are.
You can play the game while walking or laying down or cleaning; and so on and so forth.
But, no matter what you are doing, focus on yourself.
On the movement of your thoughts and the flow of your feelings
Right within this moment of focus, allow yourself to appreciate ten things about yourself.
Just ten things that you believe are worth appreciating.
The ten things that you choose can be anything.
Right after you do so, think about ten experiences you have, regarding the fulfillment of a goal.
Or, even, the satisfaction of a particular vision or the fulfillment of a desire.
You can choose anything.
Give yourself the time and energy to appreciate this desire and, in turn, to appreciate what you created.
Remember that you were the one who created this.
And, furthermore, that not only can you create such a thing again, but that you can create that which goes beyond the confines of the success that you have already created and enjoyed.
Soon after you conclude this part of the process, appreciate ten of the ways in which you are creative.
Remember, creativity is a vast and infinite notion that encompasses a limitless wealth of possibilities.
Even the mere act of sweeping a floor in a way that gets results is, on several levels, a fundamentally creative act.
And, as you allow the process to conclude, remember who you are.
Remember that you are a creative being who can create, and enjoy, all that you desire.
You exist beyond limits. You exist beyond confines. You exist beyond restrictions.
And, with that, allow yourself to go forth, knowing who you are and what you are.
Allow yourself to stand tall and proud, knowing that what you desire, no matter what it may be, is yours.
Remember, too, that this power is not rooted merely in the attainment of “things” but is, instead, rooted in who you are and the very gift of gifts that you both possess and truly are.
