Yet Another 5 Investments In 5-Minutes

And so we return, and begin again.

Just like the first two essays in this series, we’re going to look at five simple, if somewhat unconventional, investments that take just five-minutes.

Each one of these investments takes very little time, but produces wonderful results. Results that are both immediate, and long-lasting.

What Is An Investment?

The dictionary definition of investment — Google’s dictionary, more specifically — is as follows: the action or process of investing money for profit or material result.

For the most part, this definition is aligned with the investments you are going to learn about in this essay.

But, there’s one small thing that must be addressed.

None of the investments in this essay involve money.

Rather, each investment involves a simple action that produces immediate benefits right here and right now, while also producing benefits as time passes.

Every single one of these benefits allows desirable qualities and traits to arise within your life, as well as within yourself.

By engaging with these investments, and making the choice to invest in what aids you, the act of living the life you truly wish to live is pleasant and enjoyable.

Investment 01: Come Up With 10 Ideas

Every single day, for the past five-years, one of my rituals has been coming up with ten ideas.

Just ten ideas, every single day, on a topic, theme, or question of my choosing.

By coming up with these ten ideas, every single day, a plethora of wonderful things have arisen.

A new career as a freelance writer. Plenty of ways to find clients and earn money. A ton of essay ideas. Some short stories. Practical solutions to a wide variety of problems. A deeper appreciation for creativity. A deeper appreciation for life.

And so on, and so forth…

Even more than the benefits mentioned earlier, though, this daily ritual has given me a deeper understanding of my own creativity, new ways to be creative, as well as a richer, more abundant, perspective on life, the universe, and who we are as beings.

For you to receive those same benefits, along with many others, just think of something that you would like to come up with some ideas for.

A question, perhaps. Or, maybe a theme — money, for example.

Right after that, come up with ten ideas that pertain to what you’ve selected.

If you want more money, you can come up with ten ways you can make more money.

None of your ideas need to be good. You just need to write them down.

For, in writing them down, you will come up with new ideas and new perspectives, many of which will be useful and enjoyable.

Just five-minutes of being creative — that’s all it takes.

Investment 02: A Quick Walk

The list of proven benefits that walking offers is quite vast.

Some of these benefits include increased fitness, stronger bones, improved balance, reduced risk of heart disease, reduced body fat; along with many others.

To fully enjoy those benefits, medical experts recommend that you walk for thirty-minutes, every single day.

But, that isn’t always possible.

Sometimes, a quick walk — say, five-minutes — is all that you can do.

Even though it may not be ideal, it’s good enough.

A five-minute walk offers similar benefits, while also giving you time to stretch your legs, enjoy the infinite treasures of this world, meditate on something your mind is occupied with, enjoy the moment; along with so many other lovely gifts.

If you ever find yourself with a little bit of time, and want something fun, and healthy, to do, then go on a quick walk — you won’t regret it!

Investment 03: Some Brief, But Intense, Exercise

Just like walking, the benefits of intense exercise — walking is, of course, a form of exercise — are vast and numerous.

To receive these benefits, you can go to a gym and work out for a longer period of time.

But, just like walking, that isn’t always possible.

So, one of the best ways to receive similar benefits, in a simpler and easier manner, is to perform some brief, but intense, exercise in the span of just a few minutes.

For myself, a set of one-hundred push-ups is more than sufficient.

Right after that set, which takes less than five-minutes, my body feels tired, yet energized, and it seems as if my muscles are becoming stronger and sturdier.

For you, that set may be insufficient. Or, maybe you don’t like push-ups, and would rather do sit-ups or squats; among other forms of intense exercise.

Regardless of what you like, set aside a few minutes to do it, when you can.

You will, by making this investment, become stronger and more energetic, while also enjoying a plethora of other long-lasting benefits associated with intense exercise.

Investment 04: Affirm Who You Choose To Be

Every desire you possess contains, within itself, the seed of a new you.

A “new you” that naturally experiences, and enjoys, the fruits of your desire.

If you wish to be financially successful, for example, then this “new you” is a financially responsible individual that attracts great opportunities for money, accepts the best of those opportunities, and provides immense value.

Of course, that’s just one example. But, in my experience, this applies to every desire.

Just take a moment, and think about one of your desires.

Right after that, think about the “new you” that naturally experiences the fruits of this desire, if it was a present fact within your life.

If you can break down that “new you” into a single statement — “I Am A Financially Successful Individual Who Provides Great Value And Is Very Well-Compensated For This Value”, to give just one example — even better.

Right after you do so, take a minute or two — or more — and let yourself repeat that statement, imagining yourself as the person you are choosing to be and, in a way, already are.

If you do this often, and let yourself experience the feelings of being the one you choose to be, then you will become who you wish to be, and experience your fulfilled wish.

The mechanics behind this are mysterious. But, in my experience, it always works, and it always works very, very well.

Investment 05: Ask A Question; Receive A Response

Every question you possess contains a response.

A response that may, or may not, be an “answer”, so much as it is a possibility that may, or may not, serve as what you are looking for.

One of the easiest ways to receive a response is to think of a question that is important and, right after that, to take a short walk.

A short walk that allows you to engage with the neverending movement of information and activity that exists all around us.

If you keep your question in mind, you will find something that serves as an adequate response.

Sometimes, though, a walk isn’t quite possible.

If that is the case, then you can simply close your eyes, with your question in mind, and allow a stream of images, and other imaginal activity, to come forth.

Soon enough, you will receive what you are looking for.

Both of these methods are simple and flexible.

Just know what it is that you are seeking — you don’t even need a question; a theme or concept is enough — and let yourself enjoy and observe.

For, in doing both of those things, you will enjoy the beauty of what exists within you and all around you, while also finding that which you seek.

Conclusion

The simplest, and briefest, actions, can produce extraordinary results.

If you perform these simple investments, none of which take any longer than five-minutes, you will experience those extraordinary results, along with so much more.

Just take a little time, and see what happens.
