The Power Of “Why?”

Our subject today is “Why?”

Or, more specifically, why asking “Why?” is so important.

For, in asking “Why?”, you can find your deepest wishes.

Your deepest wishes, and your awareness of them, makes living the life you wish to live much easier.

But, of course, before we get into that, let’s talk a little bit more about “Why?”

Why Is Asking “Why” So Important?

According to Google, “Why” is an adverb that means the following: for what reason or purpose.

Everytime you ask “Why?” you are, in effect, asking about a motive or purpose.

A motive or purpose that exists as the foundation for a particular decision or intention.

No matter what it is that you are doing or striving for, there exists a reason.

Or a set of reasons, as is most often the case.

Each one of these reasons serves to clarify your deepest wishes.

Your deepest wishes exist independent of the circumstances they appear to exist within.

Just as an example, many people yearn for more money. But, while money is certainly a valid, and necessary, desire, it is often not that which people truly yearn for.

Rather, many yearn for the freedom and security that money offers. These exist independent of a job or a specific amount of money that feels “attainable” and “possible.”

But, that’s just one example.

You can ask “Why?” regarding any particular wish.

Many of your wishes may be fine as they are. But, some of them may be more than what they appear.

You may find that, in asking “Why?”, a new set of intentions comes forth.

A new set of intentions that allow you to live a rich, abundant, and passionate life.

Rather than focusing on the intentions you once thought were your deepest, most intense, yearnings, you may begin focusing on new, yet familiar, intentions.

Returning to the example outlined moments ago, you may find that, in focusing purely on a sense of financial security and freedom — or, perhaps, what it is that you are doing with this money, such as living abroad or something of that sort — your wish comes forth with greater ease.

You are no longer focusing on something specific and confined.

Rather, you are focusing on something that is truthful and authentic and, therefore, easy to step into and enjoy, for it is what you truly, truly want.

Right before we clarify how to do this, there’s one thing to mention: this is just my experience.

My experiences with asking “Why?” demonstrate that many of my “deepest wishes” are no more than “apparently possible/likely” circumstances that obfuscate a deeper, more compelling, wish.

Financial security is one example of that. But, there are many, many others.

Your experience may differ, though, as you may be more honest with yourself and more accustomed to focusing on what you truly yearn for, rather than what appears likely/possible.

Clarifying Your True Wishes

The act of clarifying your true wishes is as simple as asking “Why?”

A question as simple as “Why do I want this?” can work wonders.

Sometimes, though, it’s not enough.

You see, as Neville Goddard said, our imagination travels according to habit.

Our wishes conform to our imagination and, as such, we often return to what is familiar.

You may yearn for more money or passive income or something to that effect.

But, if it’s unfamiliar to you, or seems attainable due to your past experiences, you may focus on something else.

Something that appears more attainable or more likely.

None of this is bad or misguided, as the habitual can, and often does, contain what you seek.

But, at the same time, none of this is particularly wise, either, as you are a creative being.

You are a creative being and, as such, all things are possible to you.

Your habits are not the world. Your past is not who you are.

The world is infinitely rich and infinitely vast. The future is infinitely creative.

Given this fact, please, please don’t settle for something you really don’t care for.

Rather, make the conscious choice to pursue new possibilities that excite and enchant you.

To find these exciting possibilities, you can ask questions beyond “Why?”

Some of my favorite questions include the following:

• What if I could double/triple/ten-times/expand this?
• What if this was no longer a problem, and hadn’t been for quite some time?
• What if I was exactly where I wanted to be and, then, I had surpassed that?

None of these are particularly great. But, they are open-ended — or vague, one might say — and, as such, can be applied to many different wishes and intentions.

No matter the questions you choose to ask, though, please focus on what you truly want.

Rather than clinging to habit and appearances, go towards what you truly yearn for.

You will find that doing so is more enjoyable, and far more productive, than the opposite.

Stepping Into The Fulfillment Of Your Wish

Right after clarifying what it is that you truly hunger for, you can step into the fulfillment of that wish.

You can do this in many, many ways.

Some of my favorite methods include:

• Conducting a conversation within yourself
• Playing appreciation games
• Writing it real
• Conjuring a scene that implies the fulfillment of your wish
• Going to the end

Regardless of the method you choose, there are two things to remember:

• Focus on what you truly want, rather than what will lead to the fulfillment of your wish
• Conjure the feelings of your wish fulfilled

If you can do both of those things, to the point where you know, on a spiritual/non-rational level, your wish is a reality, then your wish will become a reality.

Remember to make it easier on yourself, though, by asking questions.

Just see what happens and focus on what you truly, truly want.

Even though the past may suggest that what you truly want is inaccessible or unlikely, it is not.

You are a creative being and can bring forth what you truly crave.

Conclusion

As you may have read time and time again, thank you so much for reading this essay!

Just like every other essay, my hope is that these concepts and practices excite you and, most important of all, make it easier to live the life you truly wish to live.

No matter what, though, thank you so much for reading and please have a lovely day!
