Our intention, with this essay, is exploring.
Exploring what?
“The jungle of ideas.”
Our first part explores the jungle of ideas as a concept. And, our second part goes over how you can “use” this concept, as it were, to get the ideas that you need.
Regardless of that, though, let’s begin!
The Jungle Of Ideas
Just close your eyes and imagine a vast jungle.
A vast jungle that possesses no ending.
No ending. No conclusion. No boundary. No limit.
And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.
You can walk across this jungle for eternity after eternity. And, in doing so, you will never reach an ending.
Just imagine that.
Right after you do so, imagine that this jungle is rich with colorful flowers, trees taller than skyscrapers, great bodies of water, otherworldly fauna, crystal rain drops, translucent dolphins swimming in micro-oceans, waterfalls greater than any sculpted from our earth, starscapes as grand as the sea.
And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.
Just imagine what speaks to you, resonates with you, and excites you.
Right after you do so, let this idea flow through your mind: the jungle you have just imagined is a jungle of ideas.
A jungle of ideas.
And, what is, one might ask, a jungle of ideas?
A jungle of ideas is a jungle that grows, and contains, an infinite number of ideas.
But, not just ideas; concepts, notions, thoughts, possibilities, visions, perspectives; and so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.
Every single flower, tree, body of water — ad infinitum, of course — is an idea, concept, notion, possibility, thought; ad infinitum, yet again.
Even more than that, though, this jungle of ideas isn’t just “a jungle of ideas,” it is the “jungle of ideas.”
All of our ideas, concepts, notions — ad infinitum, naturally — come from this vast, infinite jungle.
You can learn to access this jungle. And, in doing so, to find ideas that go beyond our maps, assumptions, and paths.
On The Nature Of Infinity
Right before we dive a little deeper into the jungle of ideas, there is one thing to really, really understand.
The jungle of ideas is infinite.
You can walk in any direction for an endless amount of time. And, you won’t find any endings or boundaries.
On its own, this is lovely.
But, there is one thing, in particular, that makes this even more lovely: there are an infinite wealth of ideas within the jungle of ideas and there are an infinite number of ideas that remain unexplored.
Even more than that, there will always be an infinite number of ideas that remain unexplored and, in turn, unknown.
You can imagine these ideas as books, each one sitting on an infinite number of shelves, across the endless corridors of an infinite library.
No matter how far you walk, or how fast you go, you will never reach this library’s ending. And, that’s because there is no ending, just as there are no true limits, conclusions, or boundaries; ad infinitum.
Our assumptions and beliefs, regarding ideas and their limits/absence, are entirely rooted within the miniscule portion of the jungle of ideas that we have explored, mapped, and interacted with.
Right beyond the confines of our maps, though, and just beyond the contours of our habits, is an infinite jungle of ideas just waiting to be explored, mapped, and interacted with.
Mapping The Jungle
Every idea is already known and every “new” idea is, in fact, a combination of older ideas.
On some level, that may be true.
But, what if it isn’t?
Just beyond our habits, assumptions, and inclinations, there is an infinite jungle of new, absolutely lovely, ideas.
Each one, just waiting to be discovered, used, played with, mapped, shared; and so on and so forth.
You will never, ever run out of new ideas that speak to you, resonate with you, and help you; ad infinitum.
Our vision, then, of ideas as a finite resource, in need of constant recycling, is deeply erroneous.
Ideas are infinite. And so are concepts, notions, perspectives, thoughts; ad infinitum.
Even the really, really good ideas, and the ideas we need to explore them or bring them into being, are infinite.
Just imagine that.
And, in imagining such a thing, know that you have a direct line to the jungle of ideas.
You have a direct line to the jungle of ideas and the infinite wealth of ideas you wish to discover.
