Playing With Your Assumptions
The power of assumption is absolutely profound.
You can, through your power of assumption, become and experience all that you desire.
Tapping into your power of assumption can be a serious endeavor.
If you possess certain desires — desires that hold a great deal of value — then this is especially true.
In my experience, the more you take this work — and yourself, for that matter — seriously, while imbuing your actions with pressure and strain, the more challenging it can be to become who you wish to be.
To go beyond this pressure and strain, while becoming who you wish to be, is by playing games.
You can, by playing games, explore your extraordinary power of assumption, and the ways in which this power allows you to become and experience that which you desire.
Engaging with the games you will soon learn about can be a key to accessing and harnessing the extraordinary creative abilities you possess.
Your Assumptions Are Powerful
You are a creative being.
You are a creative power.
You possess the ability to harness your limitless creative power towards any vision of your choosing.
The act of assuming, and living from that assumption, is one of the many ways in which we can harness our extraordinary creative abilities.
Your assumptions are powerful.
By assuming that which makes you feel alive, and living from that assumption, you engage in an act of transformation.
A simple, yet profound, act of transformation.
A transformation that shifts the way you perceive and experience the world.
By changing your assumptions, or playing with them, you can shift your life.
Rather than engaging with these ideas in an overly serious manner, you can engage with these ideas playfully.
By doing so, in my experience, you can enjoy the process quite a bit more, while also being more receptive to the ways in which shifting your assumptions shifts your experience of the world.
To play with the power of assumption, you will learn how to play three games.
Each one of these games is simple, easy, and fun.
You can play these games and, in doing so, experience the true creative power you possess.
How To Play?
For you to play these games, you will need to make a very particular decision.
The particular decision, in question, is that of making an assumption.
Making an assumption, and then choosing to live from that assumption.
You can do this in many different ways.
Sometimes, the easiest way to accomplish this is by thinking of an assumption and “just deciding” to assume that, while constantly reminding yourself throughout the day.
For some people, this works really well.
For others, depending on the assumption, this is less than adequate.
During those instances, there is one other method that may be of use.
The method involves finding your assumption, taking some deep breaths, and then repeating a series of words that express that assumption.
Repeat these words, and do so with feeling.
Let any sensations arise — images, sounds, and sensations of that sort.
Let yourself enjoy the assumption.
Once you complete this process — take as long as you would like — resume your day, while remembering what you’ve chosen to assume.
If you react to events in a way that affirms some other assumption, beyond what you’ve chosen, take a moment to remember your assumption and what you’ve chosen.
No pressure or strain is needed.
Just a playful attitude, and the willingness to see what happens.
Game 01: A Nice Walk
Just as the name implies, this game involves going on a nice walk.
Going on a nice walk, while living from the assumption of your choosing.
Right before you play this game, you will need to find one assumption you wish to play with and enjoy.
Perhaps, that assumption is something along the lines of “I Am Attractive” or “I Am Beautiful”.
Perhaps, that assumption is something a little more multifaceted, such as “I Am Receptive To The Infinite Wealth Around Me”.
Regardless of your assumption, make sure you know what it is, and are familiar, if only vaguely, with the ways in which your world will shift with that assumption.
Once you are familiar with your assumption, and make the choice to accept that assumption while living from it, you can go on a nice walk.
A nice walk that is as long — or as short — as you wish for it to be.
But, just for the sake of going on a nice and insightful adventure, try to walk for at least ten-minutes.
During that walk, allow yourself to notice the ways in which your assumption is true, the ways in which people respond to you, and the ways in which you are responding to the world.
You will, by the time you finish your walk, understand the power of assumption, the value of your particular assumption, and the ways in which you create your own experience of the world.
Game 02: Your Day & Your Assumption
To play this game, you must choose one assumption.
You must choose this assumption right before the new day begins.
Every possibility is available to you.
My advice, though, is to focus on a particular assumption that speaks to some of your most strongly-felt desires.
Strongly-felt desires that, within the context of this assumption, reflect who you are and what you are capable of.
The assumption that you are “A Wonderful Public Speaker” is one example of a simple assumption that focuses on your own abilities and experience of the world.
Right before you go to bed, remember your assumption.
Let yourself feel the reality of your assumption.
Let scenes and sensations arise, each one in accordance with your chosen assumption.
Right after you wake up, as soon as you can, remember your assumption.
Remember your assumption, and remember your choice to live from the assumption.
Throughout the rest of your day, continue to remember your assumption and your choice to live from that assumption.
Let your thoughts and actions align with your choice.
Let your reactions — this is, perhaps, most important of all — align with your choice.
Right before your day ends, take a moment to record your experiences.
You will — if I had to guess — find that your assumption affected your experience of the world in a vast assortment of ways.
Game 03: A Special Story
“A Special Story” is similar to the game above.
But, rather than focusing on any particular assumption, you focus on one very specific assumption.
The assumption, in question, is that something very special will happen to you today.
Something very special, that is worth remembering and sharing, will happen to you today.
Right before you fall asleep, you remember this assumption, you remember your choice to be receptive to the special something that will happen to you, and you make the choice to enjoy this special moment.
The act of making this assumption will, by its very nature, bring forth that special event.
You will be lead to make choices that bring forth this event.
You will be receptive to this event.
By the time your day ends, you will have experienced a memorable event.
