I Am Blessed
No one can deny the transformative capabilities inherent within words.
Some may, however, deny that words possess any intrinsic powers.
To this, I would have to agree.
Even so, though, words contain memories, associations, assumptions, feelings, and emotions.
All of these can, if harnessed properly, lead to new moods, new perspectives, new ideas, and, perhaps, a new life.
Words And Feeling
Words are powerful.
But, words are not inherently powerful.
The power contained within words emanates from ourselves, rather than their intrinsic nature.
Our feelings, emotions, associations, and assumptions; all of these come together to give a single word the power to define, redefine, evoke, destroy, and create.
A single statement is not powerful.
The way a single statement makes us feel, and the ways in which those feelings transform our thoughts and actions, is powerful.
By choosing the words that mean something to us — something special — we can evoke feelings and emotions of tremendous creative power.
We can harness those feelings and emotions in ways that allow our deepest desires to become the accepted facts of our life.
Right before any of this is possible, though, we must know what we intend to bring forth, how it would feel if those desires became a reality, and which words serve as the vessel for those feelings.
“I Am Blessed”
One of my favorite statements is “I Am Blessed”.
Just think about what this statement contains.
Beyond anything else, there’s the implicit assumption that, in this moment, you are blessed.
You are blessed.
You are experiencing blessings. Blessings of weight, merit, and importance. For if you weren’t, then this is not a statement you would be uttering.
Just saying “I Am Blessed” evokes feelings of love and abundance.
A feeling of love that encapsulates being loved, giving love, feeling love towards those wonderful people around me and the passions and joys that surround me, while also feeling appreciative and grateful.
A feeling of abundance that encapsulates being supported, being free, being passionate, and being at peace with myself and the world.
None of these feelings are intrinsic to the statement.
For myself, though, these feelings are contained within the myriad of associations and connections buried within the statement.
If I immerse myself within those feelings, engaging with them as if the fruits they contain are the present facts of my life, then everything changes.
Or, more specifically, blessings of all sorts — those that I seek, and those that are surprisingly, yet undeniably valuable — fall into my life, with ease and grace.
The reason for this is quite simple; when it comes to manifesting that which we seek, the key is to feel that which we seek as a reality. If we can do this, then we can do anything.
A Spontaneous Utterance
Every essay on this blog is rooted in Neville Goddard’s approach to metaphysics and manifesting.
Some of you may be familiar with the lecture in which Neville Goddard spoke of a woman who repeated “Isn’t It Wonderful” to herself, night after night, until truly wondrous things began to happen.
If we are to believe Neville Goddard, the power was not in the words, or in her saying them.
Rather, the power was in the feelings behind those works. Feelings that, to the woman, implied that life truly was wonderful.
By immersing herself within those feelings, and assuming that her life was wonderful, the woman’s life became wonderful.
But, there’s one more aspect to this method that is worth pointing out.
You see, Neville Goddard uses the phrase “spontaneous utterance”.
Rather than the woman repeating words over and over again, in a robotic fashion, the woman repeated “Isn’t It Wonderful”, as if it were a spontaneous utterance.
The speaking of the words “Isn’t It Wonderful” is far from premeditated.
Rather, those words come forth spontaneously, as an utterance that reflects the true nature of the life that you are living, as well as your recognition and appreciation of that life.
Just imagine, for a moment, living a life so very beautiful and blessed, that you are moved to say “Isn’t It Wonderful?”
Take a moment and imagine that.
You may not know what, specifically, would constitute a life of that sort.
But, there’s a strong chance that you can, on some level, imagine the mood of such a life, and step into the space of tremendous appreciation and gratitude that can lead to a statement of that sort being expressed.
The same is true of the statement “I Am Blessed”.
A spontaneous utterance that reflects the truly blessed nature of the life you are living.
If you can step into the mood implied by those words, and immerse yourself in that mood in a way that allows it to seep into your consciousness, you can be, do, and have anything.
You Are Blessed
My method for playing with these words and evoking those feelings is quite simple.
Right in the moment, I take a moment to breathe and relax.
Even if I’m walking, I take a moment to breathe, and relax my awareness.
Upon doing so, the statement “I Am Blessed” is played back a couple of times.
In playing the statement back, I let myself feel those latent feelings and step into the space of feeling blessed and appreciation those blessings.
Right after this, I begin to play the statement in my mind, a little more slowly.
Just imagining a sense of tremendous appreciation that evokes a spontaneous utterance is enough.
Eventually, after repeating the statement, and immersing myself in those feelings, the entirety of my mood has been transformed.
The transformation in mood consistently brings forth great results.
By engaging with this method, and others, on a consistent basis, the events in my life correspond with the mood that I step into deliberately.
The same will be true of you, too, I believe.
