Minor Thoughts On Taking Action

When we know what it is that we desire, we must then take action on that desire. But, when I speak of “action”, I am not speaking of action as we traditionally think of it.

Instead of devoting time and energy towards “working hard” and “making it happen”, you can simply choose to feel the state of your desire having been fulfilled. By stepping into that state, and feeling the feelings that come from such a state, you engage in a process of creation that leads to what you desire being created.

To engage in such a process, you have many choices. You can engage in an Inner Conversation; envelop yourself in an Imaginal Scene that implies the wish is fulfilled; feel powerful, free, and joyous; among many other such methods. Regardless of which method you choose, however, the end result is the same — what you desire is created.

When we have engaged in the creative process, we must surrender our desire to the creative powers that are within us. We must trust that it is done, and we must recognize the infinite creative powers that we possess, and the ways in which they are shaping the world around us, and transforming our own Self.

Yet, if feeling the state of our wish fulfilled and surrendering it is all that’s needed, then surely we don’t need to take any other actions, right?

Yes, and no.

In my own experience — for you, this may be different — action is necessary, but not in the way that you may think.

Right before I began writing this article, I chose to feel the state of having written a nice, quick, and informative article that I was proud of. It was a brief feeling, and then I surrendered that feeling and knew that it was done.

But, of course, I still had to sit down and write the essay; it wasn’t just written for me, without any direct input on my part.

Fortunately, though, I love writing. Writing is the fun part, and one of the greatest joys in life is to sit down and have the words — all of the right words — flow out onto the page, as if by magic.

In feeling the state of the wish fulfilled and surrendering to that state, that is exactly what’s happening as I write this essay. There is no struggle or strain; the writing process is fun and effortless.

The reason for that is because I chose to write a good essay, and in making that choice, I surrendered to the creative powers within myself. As such, I am allowing these creative powers to work through me, directing me towards the essay that I chose to create.

When you choose to create something, and when you move into the state of that desire having fulfilled itself while surrendering to its fulfillment, life becomes much easier and much more joyous.

You are no longer “forcing” anything; you are simply allowing that which you have created within Imagination to take form in this world of sensation.

As such, while the creative process may require direct action — and, in many cases, it may not — it is not the action that leads to the fulfillment of your desire.

Instead, the creative act that you engage with is that which leads to the fulfillment of your desire. Through this creative act, you give birth to your desire and all of the moments and events that will lead you to it, within the world of your senses.

When you are considering whether or not to take action, remember that you are a creative being, and that through your creative actions, you have already created that which you desire.

Through this new mode of thinking, the concept of action will take on a new tone, and you will be lead towards taking the right actions, while also allowing your creative abilities to work through you in the manner that is ideal for you and that which you desire.
