Goodbye, My Friend

Many years ago, there lived a woman named “Adhara”.

Born in the Great Desert Of America, somewhere close to a city that has been lost to memory and dream, Adhara was blessed with the gift of immortality.

No matter how many miles she walked, Adhara would remain healthy and strong, capable of living for many more years, with great ease.

To lessen the burden of this gift, Adhara’s father, a craftsman named “Roberto” built a special automaton just for Adhara, his one, and only child, whom he loved so very deeply.

The automaton was a spherical head on a body made of cogs and gears.

A spherical head with a smiling face that could shift itself, ever so slightly, when the need arose.

Roberto named the automaton “Adil”, a name that Adhara kept.

For many years, even after Roberto’s inevitable passing, Adhara and Adil were best friends.

The Birth Of Adil

Somewhere, in the Great Desert Of America, there lived a father, a mother, and a daughter.

The father was named Roberto.

The mother was named Pernilla.

The daughter was named Adhara.

Together, they lived in a small home, along a great dune, right below the endless birth and rebirth of Elohim and her infinite bodies of light.

Roberto worked as a craftsman and inventor. Pernilla worked as a sorcerer.

Together, the two were very happy.

Soon after Adhara’s birth, the two became even happier.

Roberto and Pernilla knew that they would perish, but Adhara would live.

To ensure that she always had a companion to help her with this truth, as well as life in the world beyond the great dune, Roberto made the decision to create a mechanical companion.

A mechanical companion made of cogs and gears, scavenged in the mines far away from the great dune, right by the old cities.

The mines contained infinite wonders, emanating from the trash stratum of the old cities. For, in those days, the vast mines were used as dumpsters for the great cities and their waste.

Even though the mechanical companion was pretty and expressive, something was missing.

Something was missing, and it was Pernilla that replenished that missing component.

For, you see, Pernilla gave the mechanical companion a voice, an identity, a mind of its own.

Soon after the mechanical companions’ birth, the name “Adil” came to Roberto’s Mind.

The name stuck, for Adil loved the name, as did Pernilla and, naturally, Adhara.

For many years, Adhara lived in the great dune, often going on adventures with Adil, while wandering through the great old cities, as they slowly became drained of life and luster, serving as remnants of the vastness of once great civilizations and the infinite wisdom of time, memory, and dream.

Eventually, as was inevitable, Roberto and Pernilla passed away.

Soon after this occured, Adhara made the decision to leave the great dune, to venture out into the beautifully vast world, with her best friend, Adil.

A Life Of Adventure

Together, Adhara and Adil lived a great life of adventure and creativity.

A great life of adventure and creativity, engaged with the infinite wonders and gifts of our world.

To list all of the adventures Adhara and Adil shared would, naturally, be an act of great difficulty and monotony, for there were so many, all of which were delightful in their own ways, unbound from the finite nature of language and writing.

Even so, though, there were some adventures that, naturally, serve as great memories that, simply by their very nature, must be recounted, even in just a few words.

Some of these great adventures include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • Visiting The House Of Gifts, along the Sola-Luc-Aei;
  • Stepping Into The Infinite Depths Of The Asima Samudra Kalpana
  • Wandering Along A Great Jungle And Transforming Into A Tiger And Then A Lion
  • Creating An Infinite Library Containing Infinite Libraries Within Itself; Each One Within A Vast Cave Etched In An Underground Train Station
  • Wandering Through The Great Palaces And Libraries Of The Once Vibrant, Magical, Alive Cities Of The Great Desert Of America

And so on and so forth, for, as mentioned, the adventures are too vast and beautiful for this brief story which, of course, isn’t really a story at all, but a mere recollection of events.

Each one of these adventures brought with it an abundance of wonderful memories and new connections, as well as a deeper, stronger connection between Adhara and Adil.

Even though Adhara and Adil were the best of friends, and had been for so very long, things changed, as things must, and as we all must.

Goodbye, My Friend

Many years ago, after having spent many years together, Adil took Adhara to a special place, deep within a forest located along the rim of the Sola-Luc-Aei.

Soon after arriving, Adil apologized to Adhara, for what he chose to say, then, was enormously painful for Adhara and, in turn, for Adil.

You see, Adil told Adhara that he could no longer be with her, in his present form.

Rather, it was Adil’s time to return to the infinite field of information from which all information beings emanate from.

Soon after the night that followed this meeting, Adil’s body would be a lifeless husk, containing nothing but machine parts that were scavenged so long ago, as well as vague, ephemeral additions that Adhara had made to Adil’s body.

Just as you and I might, Adhara cried for many hours, all while holding Adil.

For the two had shared so many years together, so many memories, and, now, that time, those moments, were ending.

Just as Adil said, later that night, Adil passed on and, when Adhara woke up, Adil was no more than his body, a husk made of memories and love and time and creativity and passion.

Even though many years have passed, since that fateful day, Adhara remembers Adil, just as she remembers how much he loved her, how much she loved him, and the times they shared together.

Conclusion

Our last story for the month of June and, most likely, for quite some time.

No, this isn’t the best story. But, it’s one that, for whatever reason, seemed worth sharing.

I hope you enjoyed reading it and I hope that it sparked a little wonder.

As always, thank you so much for reading!
