Change Your Perspective, Change Your Possibilities
Right now, it is February 2nd, 2:16 PM.
Oh, it’s also Wednesday. And, 2022.
Just moments ago, I was learning about the “Itaipu Dam”.
For those who aren’t aware — I wasn’t, until ten-minutes ago — the Itaipu Dam sits on the Parana River, right on the border between Paraguay and Brazil.
Paraguay is a small country — small, at least, when compared to Brazil — which allows the Itaipu Dam to not only supply almost all of Paraguay’s electricity needs, but to produce more electricity than the country needs, allowing them to sell the unused electricity to Brazil.
To me, this is not only fascinating, it’s deeply inspiring.
So inspiring, in fact, that it forced me to write this essay, as a way of exploring a powerful idea.
The Presence Of Abundance
The Itaipu Dam is powered by the water that flows through the Parana River.
None of this is unnatural. Water, as we all know, flows. Rivers are a body of water and, as such, water flows through them.
For many, this is an uncontested notion. One that fails to suggest or inspire much of anything.
For others, though, this is a notion of intense fascination.
You can, as we’ve done in the past, harness the flow of this water, applying it to systems and mechanisms that generate electricity, which, of course, serves many functions.
All of this is conventional.
We’ve known about hydroelectric power, electricity, renewable energy — along with a number of other topics — for many, many years.
The essence of these topics is quite interesting though, since it involves finding new possibilities — possibilities for abundance — within that which is familiar and conventional.
Rather than consigning ourselves to a conventional perspective that assumes familiarity, we can adopt new perspectives that allow us to find the possibilities, and the abundance, within the things that we’re already familiar with.
You can do this with anything.
You can take a look at your skills, your possessions, your habits, your desires, your ways of thinking — and so on and so forth — with the goal of finding new possibilities.
New possibilities that may allow for great abundance. Or, perhaps, something else.
All of this rambling leads me to my next point…
Infinite Abundance & Infinite Possibilities
Right now, at this moment, there exists an infinite abundance of possibilities.
Many of these possibilities are visible. Yet many of them are not.
Many of these possibilities are invisible, only becoming visible through a change in perspective.
Just as an example, you can consider a skill that you possess.
You can consider that skill and what it consists of.
Right after that, you can consider the many ways you can apply that skill.
You will come up with plenty of familiar ideas. But, you will also come up with plenty of other ideas that unveil the infinite possibilities just one of the skills you possess has to offer.
None of this is confined purely to skills.
You can, instead, do this with anything.
Just take one familiar thing — or a set of related things, perhaps — and come up with new, unfamiliar, possibilities found within the familiar thing you’ve chosen.
Recognize that, within everything familiar, there exists an infinite abundance of beautiful possibilities.
Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading this essay!
My apologies for the roughness of the prose, as well as the, perhaps, slightly incoherent nature of some of the ideas.
Regardless of those flaws, though, my hope is that you enjoyed this essay and, most important of all, you play with the idea that was shared.
So, with all of that being said, best wishes and please have a lovely day!
