Everything you are about to read was inspired by my friend Cole.

Cole, if you hadn’t shared those stories with me, or given me the ideas for this essay in our emails and video calls, this essay would not exist.

Thanks, Cole, for letting me work with what you’ve shared. I hope you enjoy this essay!

The Power Of Emotion

Emotions are powerful. Feeling the emotions that come from your wish fulfilled, along with all of the smaller feelings, is a creative act. A creative act that, when performed, gives birth to gifts and treasures often beyond our initial imaginings.

The difference between emotions and feelings is murky and uncertain. Some would say there is a difference, while others would say there is not.

I am somewhat in the middle. I really don’t know what the difference is. But, for this essay, let’s assume that emotions are sensations felt with great intensity — joy, awe, inspiration, wonder, excitement; and so on and so forth — and that feelings are sensations of greater subtlety — touch, sight, taste, smell, hearing, contentment, discomfort, uncertainty, confusion; and so on and so forth.

To fulfill your deepest desires, you can feel those desires as a present fact. For you to do this, you can immerse yourself in the feelings of your wish fulfilled. More often than not, this is very effective and gives way to wonders.

But, sometimes, feelings aren’t enough. Rather, you may need to invoke the extraordinary powers of emotion to enter the state of your wish fulfilled.

Let no one tell you that emotions such as joy, excitement, inspiration, and wonder — among many, many others — lack intrinsic power. These emotions, and so many others, are not only the keys to fulfilling our aims and desires, but to living a life of purpose and meaning.

Right before you can evoke those emotions, though, you must know what your wish is, the emotions that serve as the foundation of said wish, and the way in which you can evoke those emotions.

The first two questions can only be answered by you. But, the last question has an answer — an answer that has worked for me but, in all honest, may not work for you — that you can find right below this paragraph…

Asking The Right Questions

You can evoke the emotions of your wish fulfilled in a variety of ways. No one method is inherently better than any other. Some methods, however, may be more effective for you, personally, than they are for others.

For myself, one of the most effective methods of evoking the emotions of the wish fulfilled is that of asking questions.

You can think of questions as keys. Keys to new ideas; keys to new paths; keys to wisdom that has either been forgotten or ignored; keys to extraordinary possibilities; keys to passions and sources of bliss; and, of course, keys to the emotions of your wish fulfilled and the infinite possibilities those emotions, and your wish, can give birth to.

The right question can make all the difference. But, of course, you will need to know what the right question is, before you can ask it.

This is tricky, since the right question is heavily dependent on who you are and what feels right to you. That said, there are several questions that are known to evoke strong emotions. You may resonate with these questions, or you may not; all I ask is that you play and explore with these questions, relative to the desires and aims you possess, so that you can see which ones work for you and which ones don’t.

The act of play — or, perhaps, within this context, exploratory play — is one of the major keys to living a rich and abundant life.

The act of playing with these questions is one component in a life that is rich with exploratory play.

Play & Explore

To play and explore the five questions outlined below, there are two prerequisites; know what you want, and ask each question from the perspective of your fulfilled desire. Be sincere and playful, even if it feels silly, and observe the lovely things that start to happen!

Wouldn’t It Be Cool If…?

How Exciting Is It To Be…?

Why Am I Such A Great…?

How Did I Become The Person That I Am Today?

Out Of All The Wonderful And Lovely Things In My Life, What Am I Most Grateful For?

Conclusion

You are a creative power. You can, by feeling the emotions and feelings of your fulfilled wishes, explore who you are and become who you truly desire to be.

My hope, for you, is that these questions inspire you to play and explore. My hope, for you, is that you know just how special you are, and just how free you are to be and create that which gives you the most meaning in life.
