Allow Your Creative Gifts

Brief Introduction:

I wrote this essay several months ago. It isn’t the greatest essay, but I believe the ideas have validity and they are quite useful. In May, though, I will write a set of essays that addresses the themes this essay brought up in a more in-depth manner.

Your Innate Creative Gifts

Within each and every one of us, there is an endless ocean of creative energy. We all have access to this endless ocean of creative energy, and we can all harness it for our own intentions and purposes.

Many of us believe otherwise, though. Many of us believe that we lack creativity, that we lack creative gifts, and that our paths are destined to be void of creativity.

Much of this comes from the way our culture delineates what is, and is not, “creative”, while also allocating various definitions and roles, all relating to creativity, to select individuals.

We are all creative, and no matter what we do, that ocean of creative energy is in motion. We may be putting together a birdhouse, and within that project, there is a surge of creative energy that allows us to put together the birdhouse that we wish to build.

Since you are reading this essay, you are probably somewhat aware of these concepts, and how they pertain to your life. You are aware of the fact that you are creative, you are aware of the creative energies that seem to ebb and flow, and you are aware of the creative principles that underlie much of how we live our lives.

There’s a question, though, that we can’t help but ask. If this ocean exists, and if it lies within reach of us, how do we access it?

To Embrace Our Endless Creative Gifts

For us to embrace the endless creative gifts that we are all blessed with, we must allow those gifts to manifest. We must allow our endless creative gifts to manifest within the activities and desires that we are choosing to engage with.

But in order to do that, we must give our endless creative gifts the space that they need to properly manifest.

If you are working on a short story, for example, then you will be relying heavily on your creative energy, and the creative gifts that those energies lead to. But, if working with those energies and gifts is something you do on a less-than-regular basis, then they may not manifest in the same rapid and instantaneous manner that you would hope for.

Instead of becoming discouraged and giving up, or failing to honor your desire for writing a short story, you must give your creative gifts and energies the space that they need to manifest.

Set aside a block of time that you will dedicate to your short story. Ideally, this block of time will be at least one-hour. And, when this block of time begins, sit down with a blank page, and write.

Write slowly, if you need to, but write. And, while writing, understand that the story you wish to tell is being conveyed to you, there is no need to overthink or strain yourself; instead, that story is coming into fruition as you sit there, and as you write, word-by-word.

When you sit down for a period of time, and when you commit to making something and using certain gifts and abilities, you are able to easily and effortlessly fulfill the commitment that you have made. This is because you are giving your gifts and abilities the space that they need to manifest, and this space consists of you directly engaging with your commitment, and simply letting those creative gifts and energies manifest.

None of this needs to be difficult or tricky. In fact, it isn’t supposed to be difficult or tricky; creativity is as natural as breathing for us. But, we often consume ourselves with patterns of poor thinking, and a lack of commitment when it actually comes to engaging with our own creative energies and gifts.

If we simply take the time to commit to using our gifts, with the awareness that they are there, and that they have always been there, then we can move mountains and write new worlds into being.

No matter the gift that you are trying to utilize or bring into your experience of the world, all it takes is a commitment towards bringing that gift into your world, and the space that its manifestation requires.
