A Simple Imaginal Ritual For Infinite Writing
Your imagination is a power.
A creative power.
If you imagine something, then that thing exists.
Or, it can exist. And, depending on the intensity of your imagination, it will exist.
Something like that.
Regardless of that, our goal, with this essay, is sharing.
Sharing what?
A simple imaginal ritual you can use to command infinite writing.
Or, more specifically, to command an infinite wealth of things you wish to write.
To write. To enjoy. To create.
And so on and so forth.
The ritual you are about to explore has been very useful for me.
My hope is that it is useful for you.
A Place For My Writing
My writing begins in one of three places:
- In a digital notebook.
- In a “Google Doc.”
- In a paper notebook.
Your writing may begin in another place.
Such as in a “Microsoft Word” document.
Or, perhaps, in a composition book.
Regardless of where your writing begins, do your best to make a note of it.
And, then, with this place in mind, you can begin the ritual.
A Simple Imaginal Ritual
Our imaginal ritual involves imagining something that implies you have a lot of fun things to write.
A lot of fun things to write that you are really, really excited to write.
You can imagine a series of notebook entries.
Each one empty.
No, not empty: a single prompt, ready to go.
Or, you can imagine a series of essay documents, in your “Google Drive,” each one with a prompt.
You can imagine anything that implies the following: something you really want to write is ready to be written.
Just as an example, you can imagine setting up five “Microsoft Word” documents, each one centered on something really, really exciting. And, you can’t wait to write these documents/essays!
Or, you could even imagine having written something. And, being super pleased with what you write!
Yet another idea is to say “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
For what?
The amazing writing that you are about to do. And, in turn, the amazing writing that you did.
Just imagine that you are excited to write something and, in turn, that you wrote some lovely things.
If you do so, then all of this, and more, will come true.
The Expansion Of Our Ritual
To expand on our ritual, you can imagine, or appreciate, writing about a specific topic.
Or, theme.
Idea. Concept. Notion. Focus.
And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.
You can imagine anything of this sort.
Just as an example, if you want new essays centered on a particular idea, you can imagine that.
And, you can appreciate these essays and what you are exploring, thereby strengthening the ritual.
Or, you could imagine having written these essays, as part of a series.
The possibilities are infinite.
