Anxious thoughts are awful; they corrode our ability to think and act in ways that align with our deepest yearnings and visions, making it more difficult for us to truly exist within the infinitely beautiful universe we are a part of.

But, fortunately, there is a fun, easy way you can banish them!

Right before we begin, though, there is one thing to note: the method outlined within this essay is in no way a substitute for treatment.

As someone who has been hospitalized twice for anxiety and depression, this method is merely one tool that can be useful if you want to redirect your attention away from an anxious though that is bothering you.

If you are dealing with greater anxieties than, as of this moment, you may find this method useful as a tool for managing those anxieties. But, again, it is merely one tool, out of so many others that may be far more valuable to you.

And, with that out of the way, let’s begin.

A Fun, Easy Way To Banish Anxious Thoughts

Our method involves visualization.

And, for this reason, it may help to imagine something, within your mind’s eye, before you begin.

You can imagine anything but, for the purposes of this meditation, you may want to imagine a dark void.

A dark void with a single white light within the center.

The light becomes bigger and bigger.

Eventually, the light turns into a frame.

A frame that contains the anxious thought you wish to banish.

Your thought exists within the frame.

You can envision your thought as:

  • A statement.
  • A picture.
  • A sound.
  • A feeling.
  • A scent.

And so on and so forth.

No matter the form this thought takes, it is contained within the frame.

And, then, when the thought is within the frame, you can shrink it down.

Just imagine the frame becoming smaller and smaller, almost as if you are zooming out.

Once the frame is so small you can no longer see it clearly, slide it to the left.

You can just imagine the frame sliding to the left and, then, no longer being within the dark void.

Give yourself a moment to breathe in and out and, once you’ve done so, you can return to what you were doing.

Conclusion

You do not need to be bound to your anxious thoughts.

Rather, you can, through this method and, of course, appropriate treatment, go beyond your anxious thoughts.

My hope is that this method assists you in banishing your anxious thoughts and living a richer, more abundant, life.

No matter what, though, thank you so much for reading this essay!
