The essay you are about to read was written on September 12th, in 2022,

And, for whatever reason, it wasn’t published.

Until now, that is.

My hope is that you enjoy this fun riff on listing — or, just, making a list — and its possibilities.

No matter what, though, thank you so much for reading!

Possibility 01: A To-Do List

You can make a list of things that you need to do.

Simple things. Big things.

Anything at all.

You can outline your tasks for the day. You can outline your tasks for the week. You can outline your tasks for the month.

And so on and so forth.

No matter the tasks you’ve set, or the timespan they exist within, you can cross them off.

Right after you finish taking care of them.

And, when you do, your brain will release dopamine.

Dopamine will inspire you to be more productive and to do more.

Dopamine assists you in taking care of what you need to take care of.

Dopamine aids you in bringing your goals to fruition.

You can release dopamine, and get things done, with a list.

A to-do list.

Possibility 02: A Collection Of Stories

You can make a list of stories you would like to write.

Or, perhaps, stories you might write and can write.

And, then, you can find a story that interests you.

Right after you do so, you can make another list.

Within the new list, you can outline the unique elements of the story.

Some of these elements might include different plot points and characters; among others.

You can use these elements to create a lovely story.

Possibility 03: What Did You Learn?

Everything is a teacher.

Or, at least, everything can be a teacher, in its own way.

Every film. Every book. Every game. Every person. Every experience.

And so on and so forth.

You can make a list of what you learned from something.

Something, such as what was mentioned moments ago.

You can use this list to find what you learned.

You can find what you learned and remember what you learned.

You can learn to consider what you learn and remember what you learn.

Possibility 04: You Are Wealthy

You can make a list of reasons why you are wealthy.

Some of these reasons might include the home you live in or the love in your life.

You know, among so many other things.

No matter what you write down, you will feel wealthy.

Or, at least, you can feel wealthy.

And, when you feel wealthy, while appreciating the wealth in your life, you will become wealthy.

Or, rather, you will become wealthier, for you are already wealthy.

You can, as a result of this, make a “Wealth List” and become wealthier, in so many lovely ways!

Possibility 05: Gratitude Games

You can make a list that serves as a gratitude game.

A game of appreciation. A game of gratitude.

You can, by playing such a game, conjure a limitless assortment of wishes.

Wishes and desires. Desires and longings. Longings and aims. Aims and visions.

And so on and so forth; without end.

You can make a list, which is a gratitude game, so as to become more successful; enter a beautiful romantic relationship; move someplace new; command inspiration into your life and conjure vast, wonderful concepts and a few simpler ones that resonate with you, among an infinite wealth of other gifts; become healthier and stronger.

And so on and so forth; infinitely and endlessly; ad infinitum.

Just some of the possibilities that gratitude games offer.

And, of course, there exists a neverending of gratitude games that are, or can be turned into, a list.

Or, perhaps, a set of lists, depending on your preferences.

Possibility 06: A Wealth Of New Adventures

You can make a list of your passions. You can make a list of your interests.

And, then, you can select one of your passions and one of your interests.

You can come up with adventures for each one.

You can go on these adventures.

You can live a more abundant and adventurous life, all because of a list.

A simple, fun, pleasant list.

Possibility 07: Problem Solved, My Friend

You can make a list of solutions.

Solutions to what?

A problem you are facing. Or, a problem that comes to mind.

You can then come up with solutions to that problem.

Just set a “solution quota” — ten is always good — and get writing.

You will then find a solution to your problem.

You can make another list that outlines how you can bring that solution to fruition.

Conclusion

The act of making a list offers an infinite wealth of possibilities.

Each and every one of these possibilities is accessible to you.

My hope is that you find, and enjoy, the possibilities that most enchant you.

Thank you so much for reading and, as always, please have a magnificent day!
