40 Investments In 5-Minutes — Part 08
Investment 01: Make A List
Right now, in this moment, there are probably a few things you need to do.
Maybe not today. Or, even tonight. But, in the near-future.
Assuming this is true, give yourself a minute to make a list of what you need to do.
There! Now you know exactly what you need to do and, when you cross it off on the list, you’ll receive a nice dopamine boost.
Of course, that’s just one possibility that lists, as a medium, offer.
You can make a list of new ideas, things you appreciate, stories you want to create, things you noticed, new inventions to build, your favorite passions, things that are stressing you out; and so on and so forth, for the possibilities are vast and infinite.
You can even select an intention, desire, goal — and so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum— and appreciate ten — more or less, depending on what works for you — things about it, as if it were a part of your life. And, in doing so, you will manifest that which you desire.
No matter the list you make, within the span of five-minutes or less, you will clarify your thoughts on the matter of your choosing, engage with your creative abilities, clarify the future you are choosing to create, outline your vision; and so on and so forth.
Just take a moment and make a list.
Your list can be anything you want. Just let yourself enjoy the process.
Investment 02: Get Up & Stretch
Stretching is a good way to:
Along with many other, equally notable, benefits.
Stretching is also easy and fun.
So, with all of that being said, give yourself a moment to stretch.
Choose a stretch that works for you and, then, give yourself a moment to enjoy that stretch.
You will enjoy yourself, while reaping many other, equally lovely, benefits.
Investment 03: Go On A Quick Stroll
Going on a quick stroll, just like stretching, is a fun, easy act.
But, also just like stretching, a quick stroll is a great way to:
- Strengthen Your Heart
- Reduce Joint Pain
- Strengthen Your Immune System
- Experience Beauty
- See New Things
- Alleviate Stress
Along with many other, equally notable, benefits.
You can go on a quick stroll in just five-minutes.
For the best results, though, a longer stroll of 20-minutes is, in my experience, ideal.
Since this is the case, the inclusion of this investment is, perhaps, cheating.
Even so, though, a good walk — or, a quick walk, which is also good — is a lovely act that brings you into contact with the world, while bringing forth an abundance of other divine gifts.
Investment 04: Forgive Yourself
Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone has regrets
Sure. Those are cliches.
But, they’re also true.
No matter who you are, there are things that you regret.
Maybe not a lot. But, perhaps, a little bit.
The same goes for mistakes.
No matter who you are, you’ve made a mistake.
Maybe not very many. Maybe you don’t make them very often.
And, you know what?
It’s okay.
It’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to have regrets.
You’re human. You’re good.
But, you know what’s not okay?
Or, perhaps, what isn’t particularly healthy, or useful?
Confining yourself to your past mistakes and present regrets.
Please, forgive yourself.
Let yourself move on.
Let yourself move forward.
Give yourself permission to think about something else.
To think about something else. To meditate on something else. To imagine something else.
The act of forgiving yourself can be a great challenge.
But, if you set aside just a few minutes to forgive yourself for one specific thing, or to allow one particular regret to fall away, you can forgive yourself in a slow, but sure, manner.
The results of this may not be immediately apparent.
As time passes, though, you will feel, and be, lighter.
Lighter, in a way that assists you in the act of being who you are, and truly wish to be, while fulfilling your deepest aims and ambitions.
Investment 05: Surrender To Your Deepest Desires
Surrender is defined as the act of “abandoning oneself entirely.”
To surrender your deepest desires is to abandon yourself to them.
Rather than clinging onto assumptions and conceptions that shackle you to paths and possibilities that are not, in fact, what is truly desired, allow yourself to move beyond those hindrances.
Just take a moment to let those all fall away.
Know that you are limitless.
Know that who you believe yourself to be, and what you believe is possible for you, are malleable constructs that can fall away, if you allow them to.
For some, this brief, almost superfluous, process may reveal nothing.
For others, though, something very special will arise.
A greater sense of knowing who you are and what is valuable to you.
All of this will allow you to move forward in a way that aligns with who you truly are and who you truly wish to become.
