40 Investments In 5-Minutes — Part 07
Investment 01: Dive Into The Passions Within Your Passions
Everyone has a passion.
Many of us have multiple passions.
Each one of these passions is connected to other passions.
Or, perhaps, “activities” or “paths” or “hobbies”; among other terms.
Some of the passions related to one passion, in particular, may not resonate with you.
But, some of them will.
To perform this investment, all you must do is take one of your passions and, then, try to find the passions that exist within that passion.
Let’s say your passion is writing.
Within writing, you can find subjects and activities as vast and varied as:
- Language
- Storytelling
- Calligraphy
- Research
- Speaking
- Communication
- Humor
- Reading
- Conversation
- Illustration
And, of course, many, many more.
Each one of these passions is a path.
A path of learning and creation.
A path of connection and possibility.
Right after you make this list, my advice is to find some time to explore these new passions.
Some of them may evoke very little within you.
But, some of them may compel and inspire you in ways you would never have expected.
Investment 02: Imagine A Lovely Day
Our imagination is a gift.
A gift greater than any other gift we may ever receive.
Our imagination allows us to engage with the infinite creative power that we truly are.
Engaging with our infinite creative power allows us to shape and sculpt our lives, as well as ourselves, in the ways that we desire.
Or, at least, that’s my perspective. There’s plenty of holes, but it works well enough.
To truly engage with the power of your imagination, in a way that is constructive and beneficial to you and, perhaps, those around you, you can imagine a lovely day.
A lovely day that may be today or tomorrow. Or, perhaps, some other day.
For you to imagine this lovely day, focus on what a lovely day means to you.
Just think about what a lovely day means to you.
Remember some of your favorite days. Remember what those lovely days evoked.
Right after this, remember the night that served as an ending to one of those lovely days.
Try to remember what you felt, while lying in bed, ready for tomorrow.
Let yourself return to that memory.
Right after you return this memory, take a few deep breaths.
Just relax.
Soon after you relax, begin to imagine that you are in bed, having had a lovely day.
A lovely day filled with all of the things you would love to do.
You can imagine that you are remembering this day — little moments within the day — while you are in your imaginary bed, ready for tomorrow.
To make this even sweeter, you can imagine that you’ve had many, many lovely days, all in a row, for you are living life at your peak, and have been for a while.
Right after the feelings come forth, and then flow away, you can resume your day.
You may be surprised at just how quickly a lovely day comes forth.
Even more than that, you may be surprised at just how quickly the events and circumstances of your days adapt, so as to give you the lovely days you wish to experience.
Investment 03: Learn A New Word And/Or Phrase
You can, with the Internet, learn words and phrases with ease.
Since this is the case, and since learning new words and phrases creates new neural pathways, there’s no reason not to learn a new word or phrase within the next few minutes.
Even if you never use it again, you’ll have learned something new, allowing your brain to remain fluid and healthy, while also expanding your vocabulary.
Investment 04: Donate Some Free Rice
“Free Rice” is a website — and an app, for those on mobile devices — that offers quizzes.
Each one of these quizzes pertains to subjects as vast and varied as mathematics, geography, language, pop culture, climate activism; along with various.
For every question you get right, ten grains of rice will be donated to those in need.
You can take five-minutes — or more, if you want — and, assuming you get 30 questions right — many of them aren’t too challenging and they go fast — donate 300 grains of rice.
That isn’t a lot. But, the ease in which you can donate these grains of rice, while also sharpening your skills in a subject of your choosing, is remarkable.
Just take a little bit of time to answer some questions and, in turn, donate some rice.
It’s easy and it’s pretty fun!
Investment 05: Remember Who You Are
You are a creative being.
You are a creative being who possesses limitless creative power.
You are a creative being who is a limitless creative power.
No matter what you seem to be, and no matter what they say about you, you are far more powerful, and far more beautiful, than you will ever know.
Remember that.
Take a moment to remember who you truly are.
Reside within this remembrance for a few minutes.
Just remember who you are.
Allow this new perspective — this remembrance — to transform your perspective.
The goals and ambitions — among other such things — you hunger for may remain.
But, know that they are not “bigger” than you, and that you are more than “worthy” of them.
Remember this, and allow it to permeate your experience of the world.
