40 Investments In 5-Minutes — Part 02

For the second-part of our essay series, let’s continue to explore 40 unique investments, each of which you can perform in just 5-minutes or less.

As with the other essays in this series, every investment is, in essence, a simple action you can perform and that, by doing so, will bring plenty of short-term benefits, as well as an abundance of long-term benefits.

To perform these investments successfully, in a way that creates results, my advice is to do so playfully, in a way that embraces your curiosity.

Investment 01: Step Into Your Imagination

As a creative being, your imagination is limitless.

A limitless treasure trove of wonders, gifts, blessings, concepts; and so on and so forth.

You can take just 5 minutes and step into the infinite gifts of your imagination.

Just set aside 5 minutes — or less, if you need to — for this investment.

To step into your imagination, enjoying the infinite gifts found within, think of an intention.

Just one, simple intention.

You may have a question you wish to explore. Or, perhaps, a specific theme.

Your intention may be to experience a new world or step into the eyes of someone else.

Right after you find your question or theme — you can choose some other type of intention, of course — close your eyes, let your mind wander across the question or theme, while allowing images and scenes to come forth.

A fresh set of scenes and images will, almost always, come forth.

Within the scenes and images, you will find new ideas, important questions to ask, blessings that enhance your vision; and so much more.

Just set aside a little time to enjoy the limitless abundance of your imagination. You never know the gifts and riches you might find.

Investment 02: Tell A New Story About Your Fear

Everyone will, at some point in time, experience fear.

No matter who you are, or what you believe, fear is normal, and it’s okay to be scared.

That being said, if fear prevents you from moving forward with, or enjoying, what truly matters to you, then fear is a barrier that must be circumvented.

The easiest, and most effective, way to circumvent fear is, in my experience, to tell a story.

To tell a new story about the fear you are experiencing.

For you to tell a new story about the fear you are experiencing, take the focal point of your fear — the situation eliciting this reaction — and tell a new story about that situation, and who you are within this situation.

A new story that highlights your own creative power, the fact that fear is a message that emanates from what you imagine and assume, while also letting yourself go beyond fear to a point in time where this fear is more unremembered than remembered.

You are, in the end, the creator of the stories that define the contents of your life and your experience of the world.

By choosing to tell new stories regarding your fears, fear itself, and who you are, you create who you are and you create what you do with who you are.

Investment 03: Appreciate Your Partner

Just as the name suggests, this investment is for those in a romantic relationship.

For those who are not in a romantic relationship, though, there is an alternative investment you can perform. This will be outlined near the end of this section.

A healthy, supportive romantic relationship is a true gift.

A true gift that, of course, must be nurtured. This is especially true during those times when your relationship appears to be suffused with ennui and detachment.

One of the easiest ways to nurture a healthy, supportive relationship is to focus on your partner.

To take five-minutes, give or take, to find ten things you appreciate about them. And, then, to share these things — some of them, at least — with them.

A true sense of appreciation, when expressed with sincerity and lovely, is powerful and passionate and beautiful and transformative in so many lovely ways.

You will, if you perform this investment, bring a greater sense of vibrancy and vividity to your relationship, all with remarkable ease

For those who aren’t in a romantic relationship, though, you can take some time to think of ten things you appreciate about yourself, about your friends, about your family.

Just choose one — or more, if you want — and, then, appreciate it.

Even if you do not share this appreciation, the feelings and mood will vibrate, bringing a greater level of happiness and abundance into your life, as well as the lives of those you are with.

Investment 04: Brush Your Teeth

For most people, brushing your teeth is an easy task that takes around two-minutes.

Even though brushing your teeth is such an easy, quick task, it offers a plethora of benefits that offer plenty of short-term rewards, and many more long-term rewards.

Some of these rewards include toothache prevention, gum disease prevention, reduced risk of heart disease, a cheaper dental bill, and, interestingly enough, better sexual performance.

To experience these rewards, all you must do is brush your teeth.

For the best results, brush your teeth in the morning and, then, right before you go to bed.

Investment 05: Perform Some Brief. But Intense, Exercise

The benefits of intense exercise are vast and numerous.

Some of the most notable benefits are an enhanced mood, weight loss, a healthier heart, a higher metabolic rate, and a reduced heart rate.

To receive these benefits, you can go to a gym and work out for a longer period of time.

Sometimes, though, this isn’t always possible.

Or necessary, for that matter.

To receive many of the same benefits intense exercise offers, with less time, you can perform a single exercise, or pattern of exercises, in just five-minutes.

For myself, a set of one-hundred push-ups is more than sufficient.

Right after that set, which takes less than five-minutes, my body feels tired, yet energized, and it seems as if my muscles are becoming stronger and sturdier.

For you, that set may be insufficient. Or, maybe you don’t like push-ups, and would rather do sit-ups or squats; among other forms of intense exercise.

Regardless of what you like, set aside a few minutes to do it, when you can.

You will, by making this investment, become stronger and more energetic, while also enjoying many of the other long-lasting benefits associated with intense exercise.

Conclusion

Sometimes, the simplest, easiest, actions are the most impactful.

My hope is that you perform these investments and, in doing so, discover this truth.
