3 Ideas On Initiation Never Truly Ending

4 min readMar 18, 2025

Our goal, with this essay, is sharing.

Sharing what?

A set of ideas on the following notion: initiation never ends.

Right before we dive in, “initiation never ends” refers to the process of growth/evolution that we, as beings, engage in, throughout the course of our infinite life.

Or, at the very least, something to that effect.

Every single one of the ideas found below engages with this notion in a manner that honors the infinitude of life.

Regardless of that, though, let’s dive in!

Idea 01: Infinite Worlds Beyond All Worlds

Our first idea is as follows: there are an infinite number of worlds.

Or, even, Universes; ad infinitum.

We live in one world.

Our own wonderful human existence is rooted in the one world we live within.

But, when we die — or, perhaps, when something else, of that sort, occurs — we move into a higher world.

And, then, when our time in this higher world comes to an end, we move into another world.

Every single world above ours is that which we cannot truly perceive.

Or, for that matter, understand.

Our consciousness is unable to engage with the worlds that live above us.

But, that changes, naturally, when we enter these higher worlds, as per our destiny.

The life we live is infinite.

Infinite. Endless. Unending. Limitless.

And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.

This life is a constant progression from one world to another; ad infinitum.

Idea 02: Endless Horizons Of Greater Pleasure

Our second idea is rooted in the fact that we all have passions.

Or, if not passions, things that bring us a great deal of pleasure.

Just as an example, writing is one of my passions. And, writing brings me so much pleasure.

The same is true — but, to a lesser extent, it must be said — of walking, reading, my friends, parties, libraries, traveling; and so on and so forth.

Every single one of those things brings me a lot of pleasure.

The pleasures that constitute these things serve as one of the many things that make my life so wondrous.

But, here’s the thing: even though it may feel as if these things are the peak of pleasure, they are far from it.

Or, more specifically, there are an infinite wealth of novel pleasures, passions, hobbies — and so on and so forth, of course — that can, and will, evoke even greater passion, pleasure, love — and so on and so forth — then these.

You can extrapolate this to friendships, romance, and a wealth of other things.

The friendships you have — and, the partner you have, naturally — are all lovely.

But, there are so many more, even better, friends out there. And, a partner so much better than your partner.

The horizon of pleasure turns into horizons of pleasure: one horizon after another, endlessly and infinitely.

Even though this idea is fun to think about, it isn’t a particularly useful — or, for that matter, kind — idea to live from.

If you are always thinking about the “better” romance or passion that lies beyond the horizon, you may not appreciate, or respect, the wealth of gifts present within this moment.

Outside of that basic notion, though, there is something else to honor.

Even though our life may, in a deeper metaphysical sense, be without end, the human life we live is finite.

Or, at least, it appears to be finite.

And, as such, there is value in giving what we love, and those who love us, as much of our finitude as we can.

Idea 3: Limitless Novelty Across Our Infinite Universe

Our third idea is rooted in novelty.

Or, more specifically, the idea of “novelty.”

The definition of “novelty” is as follows: the quality of being new, original, or unusual.

Just as an example, a new idea — apples that contain living ideas, for example — is a form of novelty.

All of this leads me to this notion: our Universe is filled with infinite novelty.

Or, more specifically, it generates, and contains, an infinite wealth of novelty.

Endless worlds. Infinite ideas. Unending experiences.

And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.

You can wander throughout the novelty that comprises our Universe for an infinite wealth of eternities.

There are no endings, limits, boundaries; ad infinitum.

All of this comprises a kind of “initiation.”

Going from one rung in the ladder of novelty to another rung that contains/generates infinitely more novelty.

No matter what, though, there remains an infinite wealth of novel things to enjoy, experience, learn; ad infinitum.
