My goal is to live a rich, abundant life.

A life that is rich and abundant with:

  • Adventure
  • Creativity
  • Possibility
  • Love
  • Beauty
  • Exploration
  • Play
  • Novelty

And so on and so forth.

Your goal may be similar.

And, if it is, then my hope is that this essay, and the idea it contains, is of use to you.

You Live Your Life, Every Single Day

The goal of living a rich, abundant life can seem big.

Big and insurmountable; vast and unclear; grand and obtuse.

And, in many ways, it is.

You see, a rich, abundant life is a life: a vast span of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, and, perhaps, even centuries.

Each one rich with beauty, connection, creativity, interactions, thoughts, people; and so on and so forth.

A rich, abundant life is a life.

And, when we start thinking about a life, in all of its vastness, making sense of what to do and how to do it can become remarkably daunting.

But, of course, it doesn’t need to be this way.

Rather, we live our lives every single moment of every single day.

And, when we consider what it means to live a rich, abundant life every single day, things become slightly more manageable.

All of this brings me to the central idea within this essay: if we wish to live a rich, abundant life, then we can, and should, do so every single day.

To accomplish this task, there are many, many things we can do.

Our concern is not with all of these things or, even, many of them.

Rather, our concern is with a single practice that can, and will, change your life.

Or, at least, allow you to live a rich, abundant life.

2 New Things, Every Single Day

Every single day, you are given an infinite wealth of opportunities.

Opportunities and possibilities; potentials and paths; and so on and so forth.

Right within the vastness that is every single day, you can make a choice.

You can make two choices, as a matter of fact.

And, these two choices are as follows: to do one new thing that you’ve never done before, followed by yet another thing that you have never done before.

Your two “new things” can be anything.

Anything at all.

Some examples of the two new things you can do, every single day, are as follows:

  • Try a new creative practice you’ve never tried before.
  • Visit a place you’ve never been to before.
  • Explore a new idea you’ve never explored before.
  • Try a new spiritual practice you’ve never tried before.
  • Join a community event that you’ve never been a part of before.
  • Try a new creative hobby you’ve never tried before.
  • Dive into a new subject you’ve never dived into before.

And so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.

The possibilities are vast and infinite.

You will never run out of new things to do, try, explore, engage with, experiment with, learn; and so on and so forth, endlessly and infinitely; ad infinitum.

And, with that in mind this, practice allows you to interact with the infinite riches of our universe.

To interact with the infinite riches of our universe and, in doing so, live a rich, abundant life.

Don’t get me wrong, there are many other components to living such a life. But, the act of trying new things, on a daily basis, is a fast, relatively easy way to live such a life.

Conclusion

You can live a rich, abundant life.

And, if you engage with the practice above — even if you don’t do so everyday — you may find that doing so is far easier than you assumed.

No matter what, though, thank you so much for reading this essay!
