12 Ways To Effortlessly Command Inspiration — Part 02
On July 13th, “12 Ways To Effortlessly Command Inspiration — Part 01” was published.
Just as you might assume, the essay you are about to read is the second part in this series.
Everything else you may want to know regarding inspiration — or, this essay series, in and of itself — can be found in “12 Ways To Effortlessly Command Inspiration — Introduction”.
So, with that out of the way, let’s dive in!
A Letter To The Universe
Our universe is benevolent and supportive.
You can turn to our universe and receive assistance for anything.
Or, at least, that’s one perspective.
One very useful perspective.
To perform this particular method, you will need to embrace this perspective.
No, not for very long. Just for one moment.
One moment is enough.
To make it easier for you to step into this perspective, you can replace “universe” with another word.
Some of my favorite words, for this context, include:
- God
- Source
- Divinity
- Spirit
- Light
And so on and so forth.
Choose a word that works for you.
Right after doing so, consider what it is that you are looking for.
Or, rather, consider the exact kind of inspiration you are looking to conjure, as well as what it is you would like this inspiration to bring forth.
Right now, for me, this might be a new essay or a new story.
For you, though, this may be something else.
No matter what, please remember that the possibilities are infinite.
Please remember that and, while remembering such a notion, please remember that your desires are valid.
Even if your desires appear silly or indulgent, they are valid and worth pursuing.
Soon after you come to terms with the inspiration you want, open a word document or gather a piece of paper and a pen/pencil.
Right after you’ve done either one of those things, write “Dear Universe”.
Or, again, something a little different, such as “Dear Source”; choose what works for you.
Let yourself breathe in and breathe out.
Soon after this moment passes, begin writing your “Letter To The Universe”.
Within your letter, make sure to outline:
- Why You Want To Be Inspired
- The Kind Of Inspiration You Want To Experience
- What You Would Like This Inspiration To Bring Forth
- Your Appreciation For This Universe
Right as you reach the end of your letter, write “Thank you so much!”
Or, some other sentence that conveys appreciation.
While writing this statement — and, really, the whole letter — allow yourself to feel grateful.
Grateful for the inspiration you are about to feel, as well as all manner of other, equally related, things.
And, when you pen that statement of gratitude, your work is done.
You can throw your letter away.
Or, you can keep it for later.
No matter what, though, allow yourself to feel that inspiration is coming.
Just allow yourself to feel that, even if it feels forced.
Right after you do so, you can move on with your life.
Soon enough, you will become inspired.
You may not know when or how, but you will become inspired.
Writing It Real
Remembering is a creative act.
A creative act that can conjure what is being remembered.
To perform this method, you are going to remember when you were inspired.
Rather than remembering a “real moment” when you were inspired, you will remember an imagined moment.
A special, yet imagined, moment of inspiration.
To accomplish this, grab a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. Or, as with the method above, open up a word document.
Right after you do so, allow yourself to imagine that you were inspired.
Just imagine being inspired, the form this inspiration took, the way this inspiration made you feel, what this inspiration led to; and so on and so forth.
Right as you imagine this inspiration, allow yourself to write it down.
Write it down and, while you write it down, allow yourself to feel it as a reality.
Or, perhaps, allow yourself to feel grateful for these moments and these memories; the fact that they happened, that they were nice, that they led to nice things.
You can spend as much time as you want with this.
No matter what, though, allow yourself to feel as if you’ve been inspired.
You’ve been inspired and are appreciating the inspiration that came to you.
Or, alternatively, you’ve been inspired and continue to be inspired.
No matter what you choose, allow yourself to feel these memories as a fact of your life.
And, when you finish writing this document, allow yourself to move on.
To move on, within the knowing that you will be inspired.
A Written Prayer
Inspiration is a force.
A force; an energy; a being; an essence; a field.
And so on and so forth.
All of this is true. None of this is true.
None of it matters.
Rather, what does matter is whether conceiving of inspiration aids you in becoming inspired.
Conceiving of inspiration in this way may be useful for you.
Or, perhaps, it won’t be.
No matter what, though, it’s always worth a try.
To perform — or “try” — this method, you must imagine inspiration as a force.
Or, again, something akin to a force, such as an energy or an essence or a field.
Right after you select one of those, allow yourself to imagine and believe that inspiration is accessible and limitless, as well as any other qualities that resonate.
Soon after you imagine inspiration in this way, open a word document or grab a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
Begin writing a letter to inspiration.
A letter to inspiration that clarifies:
- Why You Want To Be Inspired
- The Type Of Inspiration You Would Like To Experience
- What You Would Like This Inspiration To Conjure
- Your Appreciation For Inspiration And Its Presence
And, well, anything else you would like to add.
Right as the letter comes to a close, make sure to say “Thank You” to, and for, inspiration.
You can conduct this ritual as many times as you would like and the act of doing so will strengthen your connection to inspiration.
Conclusion
No matter what anyone says, inspiration, and all that such a thing implies, is easy.
Easy and almost effortless.
You can perform any one of the methods outlined above and the act of doing so will allow you to become inspired.
Please don’t make my word for it.
Rather, please set aside some time to experiment.
To experiment and find what works for you.
